Baking Brownies

Hello! I've been very busy baking brownies today, and I wanted to show you my reward for helping Mommy...

Did you see my new contraption? It's called a Learning Tower, and I can climb up in it and see what's going on in the kitchen. I love to help with cooking and washing dishes, so this is a great way for me to stay safe while I do it. Jenny found it on Craig's List for me, then Papa went to pick it up in Lake Monticello...it was a total team effort! (And Mommy says she got a great deal, which really makes her happy.) We're still on the lookout for a Stokke Tripp Trapp chair...Mommy's stalking Craig's List for one, so if you see one, let her know! :)

Chatterbox

Well, I'm talking. I started about a month ago really trying to say words, but recently I've taken it to a whole new level. Mommy decided that I should share a sampling with everyone. Hope you enjoy my developing lexicon!

June 2011

Here's the month of June, in a nutshell.

First off, I'd like to thank the Lord for creating chocolate. Mommy says I like it almost as much as my Daddy does! Here I am licking my first chocolate batter right off the whisk.

Needless to say, I'm in love.
Elias and I have been hanging out a lot recently, which I think is awesome! You're going to see a lot of him and me together this post. Here we are with Papa at Marco and Luca's, a dumpling restaurant on the downtown mall. We had a blast with Papa! Does he look like he has his hands full?
Here we are with Aunt Ali at the Discovery Museum on the Downtown Mall...isn't she beautiful?
Elias, we're having fun! Seriously, we're having fun!
Well, at least I was. He had fun til he fell off his seat on the boat. Ouch. Don't worry...we're tough guys, so he bounced back quickly and the party continued.
Here we are playing with golf balls, letting them roll down an elaborate maze (when we weren't eating them, that is).

The train table was pretty cool...
Here I am at the Discovery Museum another day (different outfit, sans my best bud Elias). I really like the slide, and find that climbing up is almost as fun as sliding down.
Here's a big shot of the boat room, just so you don't think Mom and Aunt Ali had us in prison.
This is a vacuum system that you could put scarves and puff balls in, then watch them shoot all around the tubes! Then they'd pop out and you could catch them.
Oh yeah. Now you're speaking my language...trucks.
Here I am "helping" Mommy make chicken salad.
Here I am at Nonni's house in the bath tub. I love the water!
Here we are again...cousins. If this ends up in one of our yearbooks, we're going to be a little peeved.
Here I am with Grandma. I'm kissing my hand, then putting it on her lips. I couldn't quite reach her to give her a real kiss, so this was the next best thing.
Mommy's so glad we got to see her this day and visit. Two days later (June 30th), she peacefully went to be with Jesus. That day when Mommy asked her if there was anything she was worried about leaving behind, she said, "No, honey. Jesus died for me a long time ago." :)
We miss you, Grandma! Thank you for all you did for our family...we love you so much.

As you know, my Aunt Beanie is an amazing photographer. She put together an incredible slideshow of Grandma's life, and you can see it here:

P.S. Mommy posted two videos recently, check out "earlier posts" to access them. Enjoy!

July 2011

Here I am with my Aunt Katie playing the piano at Aunt Terry and Uncle Tim's house. It's a duet. Actually, Aunt Katie is playing beautiful music while I bang away on the high notes.

Here I am at Nonni's house playing with the neighbor kids. You know how it is...fast cars and fast women.

Here I am all dressed up in my tie and vest.
I know I've mentioned how much I love my cousin Elias, but I'm going to say it again. He's awesome. To quote the show Scrubs, "It's guy love...between two guys."

Don't know if you heard, but I went pee-pee on the potty for the first time July 18th. When I'm wet or poopy, I tell Mommy by grabbing my diaper. Then we try the potty and get a fresh diaper. I was at Ms. Janelle's house this past week and told her, too...then I went to my diaper bag and brought her a fresh diaper, just in case she wasn't sure that's what I was saying.

Elias came to stay with us one weekend in July, and we had a blast! Here's Elias and Daddy snuggling:
And here I am to join the fun!

Nonni and Papa came over for a visit since their two grandkids were in the same place at the same time. I can't say that we fought over them, but we definitely were occupying both of their laps while they were here. Don't worry...we shared.

Elias walking around the kitchen with Nonni:

Playing with Papa and Elias:

I love to vacuum! I love it so much that I hate it too. Let me explain. I love to push it around, but it weighs 20 lbs, so I can't make it do what I want it to all the time. Then I get really, really mad and frustrated. Mommy has actually started to hide it from me to save me from myself. Don't worry. I still have the dustbuster, which keeps me quite busy. I open the closet, give Mommy the broom, and she sweeps the floor, creating piles for me to suck up. We're a good team. I make sure she does this at least a couple times a day. It's hard to find good help these days, you know. Oh...and Nonni just got me my very own Dirt Devil vacuum. It looks like Mommy's, except that mine is red. It even works! We're blowing through batteries like crazy around here.

Here I am helping Mommy cook. This is my Learning Tower, which keeps me safe while I help with things. Now I know how to push it to the counter, then climb up in!

I still love my swing!

Thanks for reading!
