Happy Halloween!

Hello friends and family! Although I will not be trick-or-treating this year, Mom and Dad decided I could still dress up for their entertainment. Apparently the plan for Halloween is to hide in the basement and watch football...Mom keeps saying something about walking petri dishes ringing the doorbell. I thought kids wore costumes, but I guess I'm wrong. Thanks to my aunt Ali for the pumpkin...it's just the right size!

The Redskins...

OK, so I watched my first Redskins game last night, and this is how I feel about the performance!

I'm pretty sure the play-calling responsibilities should have gone to me. My dad agrees. Hopefully the Tech game on Thursday will have me smiling. Stay tuned for pictures in my Hokie outfits.

This photo could also be of me yawning that my Dad is trying to use as propaganda...

Blue Light Special

Bilirubin is a term that has been added to the Collier vocabulary thanks to Duncan's jaundice. Increased levels of bilirubin in the blood causes jaundice, so we've been anxiously waiting for his bilirubin count to drop. Despite the serious nature, it's been quite humorous to hear everyone try to pronounce bilirubin in casual conversation. We've heard every version you can think of - billy ribbon, bilbo rubin, billy blue...the list goes on and on. To decrease Duncan's bilirubin levels he's spent the last couple of days in a bili-bed, which is basically a midget tanning bed that emits a bright blue light.

Our own little bilbo rubin glow worm.

Duncan takes his tanning sessions very seriously.

The only time Duncan would come out of his bilibed was to be fed.
Got milk? Duncan does!

Who would have thought Duncan would develop Bobby's five o'clock shadow so soon?

Bath time!

Duncan had his first bath since coming home the other day, and he loved it! He was very relaxed yet very alert.

We know he did not get his modesty from his father...

He is so handsome! (maybe he did get that from his Dad)

The Collier King

Do you remember in The Lion King when Simba was born and his Dad, Mufasa, lifts him up for all his kingdom to see? Well, Bobby has always wanted to have his Simba moment with Duncan - and he did. He walked out the hospital with his son, bended one knee, and raised Duncan over his head for all the world to behold. Bobby played a great Mufasa, Duncan out-acted Simba and Waynesboro is thankful to have been compared to a kingdom.

Duncan did a great job on his first car ride, and Bobby did a great job dialing down his inner Jeff Gordon.

Duncan is slightly jaundiced so we've been doing a bit of sun bathing over the last couple of days.

And now we're just enjoying being home and being a family.

A new Collier has arrived...

...Collier pride lives here.

Hello everyone - this is Bobby. Here are a couple of shots of Duncan's birthday. I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. A special thanks to Wubby and Beanie for putting this blog together. Maybe I am biased, but Duncan has come out pretty much perfect. See for yourself:

at the hospital

This is wubby and alison. We are at the hospital and are waiting (not very) patiently. Peanut is a naughty boy before he is even in this world. Meg has been in ferocious labor since about ten last night. She is a trooper! You have never seen someone work so hard for so long! She even fell asleep in mid sentence earlier. So cute and so sad all at the same time. Bobby is being wonderful, I can't stress that enough. Well, hopefully peanut will grace us with his presence soon!

Here we go...

Hi family and friends! This is my first attempt at a blog, and I'm hoping that this will be a good way to keep everyone up to date with Peanut as he grows!

I'll do my best to keep it updated, but be patient with this first-time mom! :)
