May 2012

Hey everyone!  Here are our adventures for May 2012!  Daddy thought it would be funny to see what Whit would look like with his hat on.  As you can tell from these pictures, Whit is teething.  It would be wise of you to not put valued objects near his mouth right now.  :)  As you can also see from these two shots, Whit has to be placed away from me.  I have an uncontrollable urge to attack him with hugs, kisses, and tackles.  I feel that it is all in love, but bystanders may interpret it differently.  Mommy calls it the "Whit-ness protection program" when she put him where I can't get to him.  She thinks she is very clever.
We met Aunt Ali and Elias at the Children's Museum of Richmond (we posted a video earlier of us riding the train).  This is the mascot of the Museum...Elias loves him, as you can see.  Mommy and I would prefer to have nothing to do with him.
Here we are, taking a snack break from all the playing.  Of course, neither of us wanted to eat the snacks our Mommy brought -- we wanted the other cousin's snacks.  We share nicely.
Here is Whit, taking in the sights of the museum.
Elias cheesing, knowing the adventure that was about to begin on the train ride...
Pushing the stroller around the museum was one of our favorite activities...
The stroller was a real workhorse that day.
Here is Whit at Nonni and Papa's house.   This was his first time in a high chair!  Unfortunately, he didn't get to eat anything.  He was still on a liquid-only diet at this point.
 I really love my Daddy.
Here I am at the Run for their Lives Race.  My Aunt Wubby and Aunt Beanie worked really hard to put it all together...and it was a great success!  We had a 20% increase in runners, and we raised a lot of money for Freedom 4 24!  I loved playing with the balloons!

Whit and Papa had a great time playing...

Here is Whit, having his first bite of real food...Janelle's homemade applesauce!  Check out the bib...it says, "These fools put my cape on backwards."  He loved it, by the way.
Playing in the living room...
Uncle Schmo got married on May 18th; here I am a little earlier in the month trying my tux on.  This is a mini version of what the big guys wore.  You'll see in a minute.

Here we are with Mommy on Mother's Day!
Here we are with Katie (Kelly) Richards.  When we went down to Schmo's wedding in Lynchburg, she let us stay with her.  It was so fun!  This is Sophie, who is 5 months older than Whit.

Here is Lucy, loving on Whit.  What a lucky guy.
Here we are at the wedding.  Mommy was pretty stressed out...she was very worried that I would go nuts and not follow directions, and generally ruin the wedding.  But it all turned out ok.

Here we are with Uncle KC.  He said we were chick magnets.  I didn't see any chickens at the wedding, so I'm not sure what he was talking about.

Here's how it all went down: Mommy stood with me til the last second, then she released me to walk down the aisle.  We had been practicing all morning, using skittles and fruit snacks as motivation.  She kept saying, "Walk to Daddy.  Go slow."  When my moment finally came, I got half way down the aisle, looked back and said, "Mommy?"  Then I looked forward and said, "Daddy?"  Then the flower girl started passing me, and that distracted me.  She was dropping petals on the ground!  Of course, I had to tell her, "Mess!"  Then Daddy walked down the aisle to bring me to the front, and everyone had a good chuckle.  Mommy ran around the back of the chairs to come to the front, and she grabbed me from Daddy while they were praying so I wouldn't talk during the service (I really like to talk right now).  While we were waiting for the service to come to a close, we investigated the gorgeous plantation:

This was the drive coming to the plantation:

Playing with Mommy:
Me and Daddy after the ceremony.  Don't we look just alike?

Here's the flower girl who distracted me.  I was trying to help her put the petals back in her basket.
Aunt Wubby and Evan came to watch Whit while Mommy was chasing me.  Then they took me and Whit back home.  The wedding started at 7p, so we were getting ready to turn into pumpkins.
What would we do without Aunt Wubby?
Mommy and Daddy at the reception:
Mommy said that Daddy did a "perfect" toast at the wedding.  She was very proud of him.
Here we are with Lori and Derrick.  We love it when they come to visit.
Whit's first bite of banana.  He likes that, too!

Stay tuned for more from our crazy house!  :)

Love,
Duncan and Whit
