September 2012

Whit is getting so big!  At 10 months old, he's already playing with toys like a big boy.  This month, he started pushing cars and trucks around like me!

He also likes to climb in the dishwasher.  IN the dishwasher.
 He also started walking!
Here I am playing the drums.  Did you know my Daddy played the drums?  I take after him a lot of ways.
 Whit, being cute.
Mommy and Daddy got me this giant Thomas puzzle at Target...it's 3 feet tall!  I love putting it together.
I really have fun with puzzles.
 Going on a walk:
Now that I take my bike on the road for walks with Mommy, she said I needed a helmet.  She had to buy me the size for 5 years olds because my head is exceptional.  Is that another word for big?
I got to start Augusta County Parks and Recreation gymnastics this month!  It's so cool.  My teachers are JMU varsity gymnastics team members!  I like to hold their hands.  I get to do it a lot because I seem to have a little trouble listening.  The other Mommies like to encourage my Mommy that I get better every week.  They tell her that I'm doing great for how young I am.  I'm the youngest in the class.  Why am I one of the biggest?

Whit has to come and watch...and one day he decided he was going to take a turn.

He's not quite as light on his feet as I am.  I fly off of this apparatus into the mats.
We got to spend some time with our good friends, the McManus family.  This is Eden.  She's 3 weeks older than Whit, and they like to play together.
 Aren't they cute?
This is me and Quinn, making pretzels.  We had a really fun time doing that.  Jenny (Ashton, Quinn and Eden's mommy) always has great ideas for activities.

Whit found some crayons on the floor and started coloring this box.  We didn't even know he knew what to do with a crayon until he just did it!
 I think he's pretty smart.
He really likes to eat too.  He won't let Mommy feed him much baby food any longer.  He likes to feed himself "real" food, and gets mad if he thinks he doesn't have what everyone else is eating.  There's not much he can't eat...only cow's milk, peanuts (and peanut butter), strawberries and eggs.  After he turns one year old, he can have all of that.
 Driving trucks:
This is my Daddy's birthday breakfast.  We had a fun day planned for him!
Daddy is my best friend.  I love him very much, and I love to do everything with him now.  Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Speaking of birthdays, my cousin Lincoln was born on my Daddy's birthday!  :)  Isn't he cute?  My aunt Ali worked really hard to get him here.  Mommy says she deserves a medal!

I got to go see my new cousin, and my bud Elias.  Here we are watching Thomas together.

Here's Whit playing in Elias' play room.
And here's the yummy baked ziti we had for dinner...and Whit stealing it off of Elias' plate.
Elias and I love to do baking projects.  It must be familial.
Here's Whit giving Nonni kisses.  I think he really liked the baked ziti.

Here's a video of Whit walking.  He too has a love of vacuums.

Some notes from Duncan and Whit's Mommy:

Duncan has been coming up with some gems recently.  I've been trying to keep track.  Here are some of the highlights:

"I don't like it that."
"Be careful in the car.  And don't crash into my truck."  (says to Pa 9-19-12 as Pa is leaving the driveway.)
"Yes indeed." 9-21-12
"And when I wake up, fireworks (or football game)."  (Duncan loves to talk about the things he will do the next day.  The problem is that he remembers it all when he wakes up!  :))
"No.  I want not."  (This is said a little too much these days...)
Daddy says, "We be rolling..."  Duncan says, "they hating..." (for those of you who don't know, that's a song that Duncan finishes the lines to.  Not my proudest moment as a parent.  9-21-12)

9-17-12 Whit gets top left eye tooth.  Within that week, all 4 top front teeth are in!

9-21-12 Whit takes his first steps; first word in the same day "Uh oh!"  He likes to mimic what Duncan says, and usually gets the inflection pretty closely.  I swear the other day he picked up a ball and said "ba" to me.  Ugh.  They're getting too big too quickly.
