July and August 2013

Hi everyone!  We had an awesome summer.  Mommy took us on so many adventures...I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Here we are at the beach.  It was our first trip to the beach...Mommy hadn't been to the beach in 12 years, and the last time she went to the Outer Banks, she had just graduated from High School!  :)
I was ready to go, running and playing as soon as my feet hit the sand.  My little brother was another story...
Here we are, getting our feet wet for the first time!
Mommy thinks Daddy is very handsome...and she thinks that I look just like him!

This is Whit saying, "No. Stop." to the waves.  It didn't work.

We stayed in a hotel, and one of the best parts was the elevator.  We really entertained people in there, I can tell you that.

Mommy says we'll go again next year...and we'll get a house and stay longer.  I keep asking when we're going back...I loved it!
Mommy says we are her wild men.  I think that she would site this an example.  We like to turn over our art easel and slide down it.  It has been relocated to the back porch.

These are our friends, the McManus kids.  From left to right...Eden, Duncan, Ashton, Quinn, Whit.  We are peas in a pod, and our Mommies love it.  Here we are, watching a movie on a rainy day!

One day Papa and Nonni brought over a present from Ms Gretchen.  It's a giant beach ball that also shoots out water.  I really helped Papa pump it full of air.  He almost passed out before Mommy found the pump.
 Working hard...
And enjoying the fruits of my labor...

Whit wanted to snuggle with Nonni:

If you know my Daddy, you know that he always says babies make him sleepy.  Here it is in action.

One day this summer, we went with Aunt Ali, Elias and Lincoln to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.  I know what you're thinking.  It sounds a little too high class for our rowdy group.  You're right.  We went for the water park.

Do you think that Lincoln looks like Colin Kaepernick?  Mommy does.  She actually only calls him Colin now.

Check out this action shot of me getting blasted in the face by a rouge sprinkler:

 Snack time!

 Roaming the gardens, half naked...
There was so much to do for little people!  Who would have thought?!
Little houses where we swept the floors...
 And then swept each other...

Look at these gorgeous views!  Can you believe they let us in here?

 Tiny gardens for tiny people:

A drum set made of wood!  Can't you just hear us rocking out?

I was in charge of the monkey on Elias' back...
The men, checking out the pond.  You should have heard the deeply intellectual conversation we were having.  It had something to do with dinosaurs that were hiding in the water...
Another adventure in Richmond...this time it was the Short Pump Train!

This is how Whit points at something.  I don't know if holding his hand on his chin stabilizes it, or what, but it's pretty cute.

Oh yeah.  Here's my ticket to ride.
Nonni came along for this adventure!

 Pure joy:

We tried to jump in the fountain.  Apparently that's frowned upon.
Ice cream!  It was really hot, so we HAD to eat it as fast as possible...which was very difficult for me.

Lincolin/Colin's first bite of ice cream!  He really liked it!
 Elias got "Cotton Candy"
 Seriously.  Colin Kaepernick.
 Whit devouring the cone...

 Aunt Ali and her men:
Well, it was a great summer (with lots of pool time, outside time, and other adventures not captured on camera).  We are looking forward to a great fall...it's the most wonderful time of the year!  :)
