October 2012

Hey everyone!  You're in for a long post today...you know how many celebrations we have in this month!  :)  The picture above is me at the Western Albemarle football game.  I love to go to football games!  This is face that I make when I'm totally engrossed in what I'm watching.  Mouth open, staring.  Mommy could have chosen a more flattering shot, in my opinion.

Below is Whit hanging out with Shamomma Nonni.  She and DooDah came over to play with us, and lucky for us...she loves to snuggle too!
This is me giving the camera the thumbs up and winking.  Yep.  That's how I look when I wink.
Remember how I told you in another post that Whit loves to get in the dishwasher?  Here he goes again!  Mommy decided to catch it on camera instead of immediately removing him.  Hopefully the dishwasher suffers no ill effects.
 Boy, he's quick.

The other day Mommy decided to dress me up like Tom Cruise in Risky Business.  Do you see the likeness?
 Thumbs up again.

I turned 3 on October 20!  Can you believe I'm that old already?  On my birthday, we had a grand adventure...I got to ride the Gypsy Hill Express!  Here are a bunch of pictures of me on the train:

Mommy likes the one below because I'm holding her hand so tight!

Whit didn't like it as much as I did...he got scared in the tunnels.

After the train ride, we got to feed the ducks.  They're pretty aggressive there at Gypsy Hill.  I recommend some kind of protective gear when you feed them.

I got a memory game for my birthday...here I am with Daddy as he teaches me to play:
Check out this crazy shot Mommy got of Whit lunging at the camera...it looks like he's flying!
Here's Whit up in the learning tower for the first time, helping Nonni make cookies.

The next day, we did Whit's dedication at church.  Aunt Beanie took more pictures, so check her blog later for those!  :)  She also did all the pictures of our birthday party, so stay tuned!  :)
It was also a big month for my parents!  They had their 10 year anniversary!  We got to spend the night with Nonni so they could have a night out on the town...and then we got to go to Carter Mountain and Michie Tavern as a family!  We've made a tradition of it, and it's so fun!  I got to wear my new fireman boots for the occasion.

 Playing around with the pumpkins...
Here I am helping Whit navigate the pumpkins.  I'm a good big brother!

 Snuggling the brother...

 Happy boys...

Here's the pumpkin Daddy picked!

Heading to the car with our treasures...
Here we are getting ready for Halloween!  I got to go as a Virginia Tech football player.  Aunt Mary Allison, Uncle Steve, and Uncle Ben got this outfit for me before I was even born!  It finally fits!  (See the previous entry for a video of me tackling Daddy while wearing my costume.)
 Down, set, hike!
Here is my other costume...Daddy got this for me at Target before Mommy remembered about my other costume.
Don't worry everyone, Daddy is standing behind me in this shot to make sure I don't fall!  :)
We went downtown to trick or treat with the shop owners in Waynesboro.  It was my first experience, and I kept trying to give people candy from my bucket instead of taking candy!
I got to go with some of my good buddies, Ashton (pirate), Quinn (Schrek) and Eden (Strawberry).  They showed me the ropes of how to trick or treat.

Then I got to go trick or treating in my neighborhood...along with half of Waynesboro!
Daddy had a lot of fun taking me out!

When I got home, I rode my bike around the garage.  I like to bargain with Mommy before we even get home.  I'm a very good negotiator.  "I ride the bike for a few minutes, Mommy.  Mommy, listen.  Two minutes."  Or, "Mommy.  One Thomas show when we get home.  Mommy, listen.  One show, and then pajamas and bed.  One show."  Mommy says one day I might make a good lawyer.

We're all laughing...our first "real" Halloween as a little family was fun!

Hope you had a great Halloween too!

A note from Mommy:
If you have time, go back and look at the pictures from Oct in 2011, 2010 and 2009!  It's amazing how much Whit and Duncan look alike in their younger pictures...especially when you see Duncan in the lion suit in 2010!  :)  They're getting too big too quickly!
