May 2013

May was chock-full of photo opportunities for Mommy.  The beginning of the month was pretty full of home improvement projects...none elective, I might add.  :)  Thanks to Nana and Grandpa for coming over to help us with the plumbing issues...we had fun and fixed the leaking pipes!

Here we are playing with water, one of the best things about warm weather!

And warm weather is great for ice cream!
We love to play in our sensory table...the item du jour here was pasta!

Here we are at the park having a picnic!

Check out my new bike.  I gave my old one to Whit (even though it's a little big for him right now).  You should see me on this thing.  I seriously fly.  My shoes have been renamed "brakes."
Look at this fantastic gate that Uncle Tim made for us!  In true Uncle Tim fashion, he was nowhere to be found when Mommy got the camera out...he's a wily one.  It makes Mommy feel much better now that this safety device is in place!  I think she's going to order us some armor soon.

I got to go to the dentist for the first time!  This is Ellen, one of Mommy's friends from high school, cleaning my teeth.  I had so much fun, and I felt like such a big boy getting to do this with Mommy all by myself.  (Thanks to Papa for watching Whit so I could be with Mommy!  Papa took Whit to go see Nonni while we were busy with the dentist...lucky guy.  I bet he got a lollipop.  All I got was another toothbrush.)

Here we are on a big road trip to New York!  I'm pretending to sleep in this picture because I don't like pictures sometimes.  We drove up to NY for Uncle RJ's graduation from West Point!  We had a lot of fun on the way up eating fast food and looking at beautiful scenery.

The one downfall: it rained the whole time.  Daddy ended up keeping us at the hotel so Mommy could go to the events!  Thanks, Daddy!  Mommy also had to be up very early to go wait in line at graduation...they had to be on Post (that means on campus in West Point speak) at 7am for a 10:30am graduation.  Did I mention that it rained the whole time?  Mommy said everyone looked like wet rats.

Here's Whit in the elevator, ready to go to the hotel pool.  Now whenever it rains, I ask Mommy if we can go to the "Hotel Pool."  She usually tells me it's too long of a drive.  I keep forgetting about that part.  Mommy got us life jackets before we left...they've been a great investment, she says.  Check out Whit's guns...or chub rolls, depending on the angle.

Here we are with Daddy in the pool.  Don't worry.  We didn't stay like this the whole time.  He let us out of this wrestling move to play.

Here's Mommy with RJ and Pa at the West Point dinner the night before graduation:

Here's what  Mommy left behind at 6am...
To go sit here...

Who would have thought it would be 45 degrees and raining Memorial Day weekend?  Crazy.
If you want to see a video of graduation, just let Mommy know.  It was too big to post here, but I love watching it.  I'll share.

Here's Uncle RJ with Aunt Anna.
Look!  He's in a new uniform!  Now he's Lt. Barnett.  We are so proud of you, Uncle RJ!!

Here's Whit playing with Uncle RJ after graduation at the little party we had for him:
And then we got to "capture" Uncle RJ for a few days!  It was so fun to play with him at our house!

Of course, I had to introduce him to Wii Tanks.  He's going to drive the real things starting next week.
Whit in Uncle RJ's cadet hat:
 We love you, Uncle RJ!

Eating popsicles in the bathtub.  This was Mommy's bright idea one day after we had already had two baths and were heading toward a third with dessert...
I jumped up on the counter one day and said, "Mommy, take our picture."  I didn't have to tell her twice.  Do you see Whit's red nose?  I'm sure I had nothing to do with that.

And, the pictures you've been waiting for...the WEDDING!  Mommy wants me to tell you that she did not have her camera (her hands were a little full with other things), so she does not have as many pictures of the wedding as she would like.  You'll have to go to Aunt Beanie's blog to see a full array!  :)

 Isn't Aunt Wubby beautiful?

It was a perfect day, and Wubby was a perfect bride!  Congratulations, Dr. and Mrs. Durrer!  We love you so much!

Here we are with Pa and Grandma Deana at our house:

Here's Whit with Grandma Deana:

Here I am with Pa shooting rockets.  A few of them landed on the roof...we're hoping a stiff wind will bring them down someday.

 No resemblance at all:
See how we're sitting?  This is how we watch TV.  We can't help but snuggle.  Eventually it turns into wrestling, but usually not until Thomas is over.
This is Whit sitting at Mommy's feet.  This is what he's usually doing when Mommy is in the kitchen.  I don't know what it is, but he likes to sit just like this when she's doing dishes, cooking, cleaning, cutting coupons.  Mommy thinks it's pretty cute.
 A new hair cut:

Here I am with Papa shooting basketball at Bounce n Play in Charlottesville.  It's Mommy's new rainy day activity for us!

This is me at B n P painting on glass.  How cool!
This is Whit looking at an aquarium at B n P...you should come to this place with us some time.  It's awesome!  You could also help Mommy keep track of us.  We tend to get away when there's so much fun stuff to do in one place.  :)

Have a great day!
Love,
Duncan and Whit
